Wesley Sneijder, a season to remember…

Wesley Sneijder started the season as part of the mass ship out by Real Madrid to make way for the new gallacticos. Inter snapped him up for €15 million which was already seen as a steal, but now looks like the transfer of the year after his achievements. He’s now 5 days away from ending his season with an unprecedented quadruple. Sneijder was an instrumental part of Inter Milan’s treble winning season, and he now has the chance to add the Word Cup to his Italian League, Italian Cup, and Champions League winners medals.

With 5 goals at the World Cup so far,Sneijder is on course to battle for the golden boot, be included in the team of the tournament, and even nominated for the outright player of the tournament. If Holland do lift the World cup on Sunday he will have a strong case to be voted European and World player of the year. You wouldn’t bet against him looking back at previous winners of these individual honours. Winning trophies is what matters and in 2010 Wesley Sneijder already has 3 whereas Messi and Ronaldo have 1 (Spanish League) between them. So don’t be shocked if he scoops the “Ballon D’or” or the “Golden Boot” come the end of the the year.
